About the event

H2O Global News and Mazarine invite you to join us on March 8th UN International Women's Day for a roundtable discussion featuring 6 women who wake up each day focused on making humanity's relationship with water a little less problematic.

PFAS & lead are public health and safety risks, flooding & drought are being exacerbated due to the effects of changing climate, and polluted lakes and rivers are hampering our efforts to protect our natural environment. Underpinning all of this is the need for water in running almost every aspect of our modern-day economy, spanning: data centers, power generation, fish farming, agriculture, and apparel manufacturing.

Water the 'protagonist', our hero, has now become water the 'antagonist' playing the role of disrupter in our story.  Join this discussion to hear how 6 women are pioneers in their respective fields, imagining new ways of doing things and developing creative solutions to address a myriad of water-related challenges.

The theme for International Women’s Day, 8 March 2023 (IWD 2023) is, “DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality”. This theme is aligned with the priority theme for the upcoming 67th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW-67), “Innovation and technological change, and education in the digital age for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls”.
